Description
Cascara tea from the coffee cherry is a herbal drink made from the dried skins of the fruit of the coffee plant.
This cascara (Spanish for husk) is from the red cherries, only the ripest fruit of our own Catuai varietal coffee trees, grown on the slopes of Volcan Baru. Born of our fertile terroir, we refine the processing of this cascara, which is washed with collected rainwater and slowly sun-dried on raised drying beds for up to three weeks in our enclosed drying facility, to preserve it’s natural sweetness and complexity. The resulting cascara has 50% more antioxidants than cranberries, and its deep flavor is reminiscent of dried fruits, honey, rose and a subtle citrus flavor. It is also slightly caffeinated from the coffee fruit, making it a refreshing choice for those seeking both flavor and mindful enjoyment.
Produced in small batches, picked and dried naturally then vacuum sealed in 12oz packages for ultimate freshness of the fruit. Grown and produced entirely at our off-grid, volcanic mountain finca, this cascara reflects the same care and attention we give to our coffee. Nothing added, nothing wasted—just the pure expression of the coffee fruit. From our farm to your kitchen table.
Enjoy it as a warming tea, a chilled summer drink, or even as a base for creative cocktails and syrups.
